The leaf bothers me. It's just a leaf but apparently it's important in some way. And we forgot the handprint so the approximation couldn't narrow it much...

I think most people considered the leaf a joke, but there are plenty of leaves around here. They wouldn't have taken a specific one as evidence if it wasn't.

I thought it was important but I just honestly couldn't think of how. Did you have any hunches?

Honestly, the only thing I could think of is that the killer might have been somewhere with a lot of plants? The gardens?

[ he shrugs. ]

So leaves could fall from anywhere, so it's hard to say.

[He sighs and flops over on the bed.] I think it's more than that but I don't have a clue what. I'm still cross about the guns. I'm sorry I couldn't have been of better use.

The problem with the guns is that we don't know about the Bounty Hunter role. Do they have a normal rifle, or is theirs different like Kaito's?

[He shakes his head.] Shotguns are... traumatic. They use shells rather than bullets. [He makes a circle with his index finger and thumb to give Jay an idea of the width of a shell.] They're frightfully nasty as far as the holes they blow in someone. By comparison, a handgun leaves the cleanest wounds. Some types of hunting rifle do quite a lot of damage, though, with just bullets, leaving a similar entrance wound but a very different outcome.

Of course, thanks to the fire...

The only way of knowing for sure is if they use that weapon again. But if they do, I highly doubt it'll be so soon after this time.

[ it'll be far too risky? and the killers were definitely smart, considering their plan did work very well despite not foreseeing kaito. ]

They did far too well at creating a ruckus this time. [Seriously what the fuck was this Friday??] And if they aren't the two remaining facilitators, then they have no need to murder again. They would have secured their incentives and can merrily coast through the rest of the game.

That's true... we know for sure there's some sort of group working for this mother person, but we don't know how they work.

If there's only three of them, it wouldn't make sense to expect them to kill each week. It's too much of a risk for them to get caught.

I've been thinking... They always refer to Mother. And we know there were only 41 prepared spots for the dead, not 42. I think... we can probably assume there is one among us who is a plant, that is to say, perhaps they are knowingly or unknowingly host to a great evil.

Mother could be inside one of them?

[ he does not seem too surprised by the theory. ]

I spoke to Dipper about that. He agrees.

If that's true, though... They might not know they're a host. Though there are probably at least some tells...

Unless we know what to look for, it probably won't matter if there are or not.

[Jake rubs his face.] Maybe... people will be more careful this upcoming week. Surely no one will be so trusting this week to be lured out...?

I'm not entirely sure that they were lured out. We've seen it in action before, our bodies losing control of themselves. People who take too long to go to trials will suddenly find themselves walking on their own.

Who's to say that can't happen in these cases as well?

That feels so unfair though. [Even as he protests it, he knows it's a real possibility.] I know, I know, this place isn't fair, but...

[He just doesn't understand it. The longer it goes on, the less he understands it.]

If we can just be selected and suddenly wake up with a gun pointed at us, or an axe raised above our heads...

If I'm honest, it kind of feels like it's skewed in their favor already, considering they're probably working for whoever is running the place.

[ of course mother or whoever would want mira's group to come out on top. ]

There might be something we're missing though, if it's not that.

I was thinking about that a bit. It's strange that there's trials and even evidence. If this deity can conjure us from different worlds and suppress our powers, I'm sure they could get rid of evidence. But they don't. They allow us to find them if possible. And... I asked Craftly, too, what sorts of people have won this game in the past. And he said murderers haven't always won.

Well... from an entertainment standpoint, it wouldn't be that fun if you always knew who would win, right? Especially considering no matter what side does, they'd still be getting bodies.

Maybe... I guess I just... found it strange that the game could end without the murderers victorious. That seems strange for such a ritual? But maybe I'm just grasping at straws.

[He's trying so hard to find loopholes or oddities in the system, things that maybe could save them.]

There are probably things we don't know yet, like how it took us a few weeks to find out that some people aren't doing solo kills. We know that there are definitely two groups. One of them is working for Mother, and another one seems to be [ what was the word they used... ] hunting them.

I assume the group hunting them was given that ability rather than just choosing to like us. They must have special abilities to give them a better chance of stopping the facilitators, otherwise announcing they're intent on fighting this would be no more noteworthy than any of us saying it.

Most likely. We've been guessing that there were three of them working in a group since the beginning because of the rules, but they seem to have known it as a fact.

They haven't done a very good job.

[Like. Not to rag on them but he's just saying there sure have been a lot of murders.]
