[ it would have been easier if they were all surprised by it during the weekend, after all. ]

I guess I thought maybe you'd reconsider. Even if not what you guys were actually planning, 'cause I get that you think it's the only way, I dunno. Maybe I thought you'd reconsider how you did it.

Nagasone wasn't actually... killed that way. Yukina only did that to his body because the chainsaw came from the Unclean, and she wasn't sure what would happen if she didn't use it after it was given to her for killing purposes.

[ he feels like other people might not believe it at the trial, but he might as well explain it now. ]

...Okay, well, that's... good on the body desecration part? Could've just stuck to. Halves. [wait, shit--] That wasn't the point. You seriously don't see anything wrong with how all of this turned out? Clementine killed Tsurugi, and now she's probably gonna blame herself for not being able to save Emily for the rest of her life. Violet too.

Emily is going to get revived. Which... I know doesn't make what happened to her any less horrific, but she's not going to stay dead.

He didn't seem to have any choice about that target though. The Unclean was apparently angry that they had been avoiding killing children.

I'm not working with the Unclean. She is... horrible. But the Prophets have to kill every week already, and they knew of everything that was going on.

[ he knows the alliance is sketchy. ]

We didn't want to make others have to deal with killing people, Dipper.

You say that like they weren't going to kill people anyway. It's not like we needed the extra push on body count. We got three dead even without your killing alliance.

[he's getting a bit jerky with his movements, like he's exasperated with everything, and he starts to scratch at his bandage]

I get what you're trying to do, but you're just-- it's like you guys want to find the easiest way for people to lynch you!

I highly doubt anyone is going to care about those three at this trial.

[ akane admitted to murdering quer and no one even blinked since they're all so focused on the hunters. it's probably why she confessed in the first place, since she knew she'd get away with it this weekend. ]

We needed to make sure it all happened before both Tsurugi and Girge are dead. If they both die, and even just one weekend passes without anyone else killing, then the game ends. If this plan hadn't gotten revealed to everyone, Tsurugi was most likely going to get executed this weekend. Too many people were suspicious of him already.

That wasn't the point, I mean-- people are still killing people. And Girge and Tsurugi were both alive this week. You didn't have to do this ... stupid mass murder thing before telling people. It might've gone over better.

We could have done a lot of things differently, Dipper. But I know explaining our reasoning won't do any good at this point. All I'll say is that the position we were put in from the beginning made it so that it was far more difficult for us to trust everyone else than it would have been normally. Even the information I gave you felt like a risk.
