[ jay's default mood on the weekends is Bad™, but the most recent trial did not help matters. the execution was worse, because of how it ended.

he's walking through the lobby, heading for the exit, when he spots hajime. he pauses. ]

Has anyone seen them yet? [ mabel and dipper, he means. he's pretty sure the answer is going to be no but he's gotta ask. ]

No. I'm sorry. But, ummm. I think they're safe, because Dipper's a good hero.

[ honestly, jay is not entirely thrilled with her, but she also didn't flat out accuse him like her friends did. it's part of the reason why he even stops to speak with hajime. ]

[ huh. he would have commented on the first part, but then she brings up the fire and it derails his originally thought. ]

It has a timer in it. You put the charcoal in and leave the fluid in and it might cause an explosion. The heat should be enough with the charcoal, probably...

You just ended up being an easy target. We didn't really compare your hair, either, so we can't say it's your's entirely!!! The oompa loompa's just headstrong and rude.

[ APPARENTLY SHE'S STILL MAD. ]

[ his lip twitches upwards at the insult to andersen because... it's funny. ]

At least the topic got dropped so we could focus elsewhere. [ HE STILL SOUNDS BITTER. ] I was actually more annoyed by people repeatedly bringing up my profile cards while ignoring the fact that other people also had very damning ones for the situation. But oh well.

[ look he has not had to deal with hajime himself, only watching from a safe distance where she cannot touch his brows, so he is. not sure how to react to this. ]

[ this is embarrassing and somewhat baffling, as he had not expected hajime to get stuck on this one thing. he looks at her, considering. ]

[ yes, jay is so cute. look at that smile. it's brilliant, radiant. the purest thing imaginable. but... it's missing something! that beauty is marred, somehow... what is it? ]

Hmmm... Almost? It's kind of weird looking, actually.

[ oh, right. she can't move her arms as freely as she used to. he's still looking at her questioningly, but he'll kneel down a bit. ]

[ it's a shaky hand that raises. she winces a little, but perseveres. apparently this means a lot to her - there isn't a lot of opportunities here to make things cute.

she sharpies in jay's eyebrows.

[ he immediately goes to touch his face??? he doesn't have a mirror he cannot see shit right now ]

Oh, I did your eyebrows for you. You're actually kind of handsome with them!

he considers. he would normally just flat out say no, but honestly, hajime kind of reminds him of someone he knows back home. ]

The mirrors are pretty clean, actually! You wouldn't think so, would you? Bathrooms aren't always the nicest.

They're sparse and that has it's own charm, but it's fun to draw them in, too!

Is this a normal thing to do?

[ look, jay definitely wears eyeliner in canon because there is no way his eyelashes look like that on their own, but this is a wild experience for him. ]

Yeah! It's a little more new to some people but it goes waaaaaaaay back? But some people don't do it. It's up to you whichever you do, I think.
