It was placed on the stairwell, and recorded someone coming from across the hall. Andersen said the recorder can only pick up on things within its proximity, and we're interpreting that to mean that whoever ran from the Dark Room has to have a room on the second floor.

Further. . . we think that since the recorder picked up on footsteps coming all the way across the hall, that it's likely the owner was someone from rooms 115 to 119.

I think it's most likely someone in either 118 or 119 myself, but I haven't listened to the tape yet.
