[ a few hours after the execution and ice cream party, jay will exit his room to make his way towards the kitchen. a sundae does not really substitute itself for food, so he decides to look for what he can find in the kitchen as a quick snack.

on the way there, though, he bumps into one (1) smol. ]

Hey. How are you uh... Doing? [ i mean bad, probably?? they just watched a guy die and the ice cream did not really make up for it! ]

I could be better. This morning wasn't exactly fun to watch.

[ it was strange, watching it. horrific, but strange. at the trial kamui was so accepting over the fact that they were going to execute him after he confessed, and was all smiles, so seeing the complete change in demeanor at the execution was... well. not shocking, but more sobering than it would have been if he continued smiling. ]

It's never fun to watch that stuff. And it's weird because it's so... Set-up, here. But it's still just as messy.

[ even with plans and sets and levers to do it all, it doesn't really feel any cleaner than beating someone with a crowbar. and she had kind of expected it to. ]

He changed his mind at the end.

He did. Or maybe that just wasn't the way he wanted to go. He seemed pretty eager about fighting, didn't he?

[ jay can relate, honestly. ]

I want to go out fighting too. But - preferably fighting people or walkers, not... Something like that.

[ A hopeless trap. ]

[ninjay]

... I agree. There's just something depressing knowing that you have to just sit and take it.

[ at least, if you get targeted on thursday night, you have a chance to fight back and cause damage to your attacker. ]

Things like this are always so tense. You can only play along until the right moment, but - usually the 'right moment' to do something is clearer.

I bet all the dead people were thinking there would be some 'right moment' to get out of it all.

There are too many unknown variables going on. The first week, for example. We still have no idea why Jason wasn't in his room. Did someone take him? Did he walk out willingly? And if it's the former, then that means just staying in our rooms won't do any good. Which, I assume, some people had been counting on as a way to escape death.

I assume he went out willingly. Hana was innocent, so if it was her voice that called him out - and I think everyone thought the first week would go without any killing. I don't know. You're right, though.

Even staying in your room - you'd have to trust your roommates.

[ninjay]

Logically, I think most people would just immediately suspect whichever roommate is still alive as the murderer. But when you add in things like roles to the mix, it becomes a lot messier.

[ that was how the ghost got them. ]

I also think that "knowing everyone would suspect a roommate first" makes for an okay defense.

[ninjay]

It can go either way. What we really need is evidence, regardless. The reason why we went with Hana is because there was no real evidence to suggest that it was the Ghost, even though some of us suspected it. If you murder your roommate, then there will likely be other signs besides you sharing a room with them pointing at you.

True.

We should be grateful to Omega. It's only thanks to her that we've got one more clue that we didn't have before. [ she sort of hesitates because it's weird to follow that up with: ] Even if it didn't matter, this week.

... I was thinking that. The problem with her death is that it only really matters if the Ghost kills again.

They will.

[ninjay]

You don't know that. Someone might end up murdering them before they can.

[ so he means, it's less that the ghost will willingly choose not to kill, and more that you can never tell what might happen. ]

I didn't think of that.

But I wonder what sort of rules the ghost really has? If someone attacks them, can they just possess that person and escape?

[ninjay]

I feel like that would tilt the advantage too much in the ghost's favor? From what I know of skill roles, there's usually a limited usage attached to them.

Like... Only being able to do it a couple times? Then why blow one so early?

[ninjay]

I don't know. It's hard to theorize when we don't know the rules, obviously. But I'm not sure if I would consider them wasting one of their tries early though. They did manage to get away with murder.

I... Guess that's true. And it's better to know just how bad a person we're dealing with up-front.

[ninjay]

Exactly. That trial was kind of the perfect wakeup call for a lot of people here, I think.

[ he, unsurprisingly, does not sound too happy about that. ]

How many do you think there are? In whatever alliance the ghost is in.

[ she knows that's a pretty impossible question, but. well, only 3 can make it out. ]

[ninjay]

There are a few factors to consider. The first is, exactly what kind of alliance would it be and how loyal are they to each other? Are they just working together because it'll make killing easier, but would betray each other if they're forced to? Or is there some other reason they teamed up that would make them less likely to back stab one another?

[ which are... more impossible questions. ]

[ all very good points. ] If they aren't all working towards one unified goal, any number more than three will fall apart. Even small groups can't last in conditions like this.

[ninjay]

[ he nods his head. ]

And if it is a unified, loyal group then... why? Murderers are already getting incentives to do it, so what would make them align together like that if they'd already get something without doing so?

[willremember]

It's always possible that there are people here who know more than we do. People who were given more than just extra incentives.

[ninjay]

... That reminds me of whoever that "Mother" is. The one mentioned in the message left by the Ghost?

That's probably the person who's more in control than Craftly.

[ninjay]

If anyone would reach out and create some sort of alliance, it would be them, right? Mother. If the players won't do it themselves that's one thing, but if someone puts them in a group...

It seems like we need to find out more about Mother. But I doubt anyone feels comfortable bringing information forward if they've got it. Or people in the group could give fake info.

What about those things called clue tokens? Do you think that might help us find something out about her?

It depends on if they're clues about this place or clues for the trials. Either way, I guess it depends on who has them.

[ninjay]

Whoever the Reporter is. I doubt they'd be revealing themselves any time soon though, with a role like that.

If they really wanted to be helpful, they would post anything they found out. That way we could all read it and use it without knowing who they are.

Maybe whoever got the role is an idiot and hasn't thought of that?

That wouldn't surprise me. But even if people here are stupid, they still want to survive just as much. [ she has to believe that would motivate them to figure something out. ]
